Ayars & Ayars, Inc. constructed 48 Rock as their corporate headquarters. 48 Rock is one of the top seven projects for the 2011Tilt-Up Achievement Awards. Sixteen other projects were selected to round out the 2011 class.
Con-Steel reports that 48 Rock serves as a catalyst for re-developing the historic University Place neighborhood in Lincoln, Nebraska. The building's tilt-up concrete design incorporates unique modern detailing, which bridges the gap between the area's historical architecture and today's contemporary buildings.
The project has been submitted for LEED Gold Certification. Sustainable elements include a high-efficiency geo exchange HVAC system and sandwich insulated concrete tilt-up wall panels.
