Forecasting the Future

Is Design Build the Future?

Design Build construction spending in the assessed segments grew 18% from 2018 to 2021 and exceeded $320 billion. Design-build now represents up to 46% of construction spending in 2021 (DBIA). Design Build spending in Manufacturing, Warehouse, Distribution, Highway/Street and Education represent the greatest percentage of Design Build construction spending. Owners have traditionally employed Design-Bid-Build as the project delivery method of choice. As owners needs and project demands have changed, owners have increasingly turned to Design Build.
When you work with Ayars & Ayars Inc., a leading Design Build firm, you will benefit from nearly 40 years of experience and planning through each step of the process. We will seek ways to meet your goals, making necessary adjustments throughout, in order to keep your project within budget. We have developed a process for working with our clients that makes the process of building as predictable, safe, transparent and enjoyable as possible. Honoring the quality and standard of construction spanning generations.

Growth is Nationwide

From an industry perspective, alternative project delivery methods have become a more frequent option for both public and private owners. On the public side, Design-Build enabling legislation is in place to facilitate increased use. Only North Dakota and Iowa do not allow Design-Build. Private owners indicated utilization on large and more complex projects, but Design-Build continues to expand into all projects.
